District Communications

For parents and guardians

Two systems. One clear place to start.

Use ParentSquare for district and school communication. Use ParentVUE for official student records. Choose what you need, then follow the setup or help steps below.

Choose by purpose

Start with the question you need answered.

The systems work together, but they do different jobs. Choosing by task is faster than opening both accounts.

ParentSquare School communication

Use ParentSquare when the school or district needs to reach you. Find announcements, alerts, newsletters, forms, events, and direct messages in one communication system.

Messages may arrive by email, text, voice, or app notification based on the message type and your settings. The app is helpful, but families can receive messages without installing it.

Best forDistrict and school news, schedule changes, emergency alerts, reminders, forms, and two-way family communication.

Use ParentVUE when you need the district student record. Depending on district settings, it may include attendance, grades, schedules, progress reports, report cards, transcripts, assessments, and other school records.

Only parents and guardians of currently enrolled students who are designated to receive correspondence may register. The exact information available is controlled by the district.

One question, one place

Which system handles this?

If the answer is “school office,” the change begins in the district’s student information—not inside a second account.

Communication that reaches you

How do I register or sign in?
  1. Use the invitation sent by your child’s school, or open ParentSquare sign-in.
  2. Use the email address or phone number the school has on file.
  3. If ParentSquare does not recognize it, email Tina Barnabe or call 570-648-5731 so the district information can be corrected.

You may receive basic school messages before registering, but registration is needed to reply and open private forms or documents.

How do I change notifications?

On the web, open your name, Manage Account, then Notification Settings. In the app, open Menu, Account, then Notifications.

  • Posts: choose Instant or a daily Digest.
  • Direct Messages: choose email, text, app, or a combination.
  • Alerts and Notices: urgent items may still be delivered regardless of regular preferences.
How do I change my preferred language?

On the web, open Manage Account → Language Settings. In the app, open Account → Preferences → Language, choose the language, and save.

Why is a child, class, or school missing?

First confirm your account information. If you have more than one parent account, use Manage Account → Combine with another account. If the information is still missing, use the email or call-now contact above; the email address, phone number, or student connection may not match the district record.

I cannot reset my password. What next?

Use the same email or phone number the school has on file and check spam or junk folders. If the reset message does not arrive, email Tina Barnabe or call 570-648-5731 to confirm or correct your contact information.

Student records you can verify

How do I activate a ParentVUE account?
  1. Look for the district activation email sent to the address on file.
  2. Follow the activation link to create your account.
  3. If no email arrives, check spam or junk folders.
  4. To receive an activation code, call Tina Barnabe at 570-648-5731.
Who may register?

Parents and guardians of currently enrolled students who are designated to receive correspondence are eligible to register for a ParentVUE account.

What records might appear?

Depending on district policies and current settings, ParentVUE may show attendance, schedules, grades, progress reports, report cards, transcripts, assessments, course requests, health information, discipline information, bus assignments, fees, and other student records.

I forgot my password or did not receive the reset email.

Use Forgot Password on the login page, then check spam or junk folders. If the reset message still does not arrive, email Tina Barnabe or call 570-648-5731 to verify the email connected to the student record.

Who can explain or correct information in the record?

The district controls which information appears and how often it is updated. If a record is missing, unclear, or appears incorrect, email Tina Barnabe or call 570-648-5731.

Keep both accounts working

Three small checks prevent most problems.

1

Keep contact information current

Tell the school when an email address or phone number changes. ParentSquare uses contact information connected to the district’s student information system.

2

Review notification settings

Choose Instant or Digest delivery for regular ParentSquare posts and confirm the channels you want for direct messages.

3

Check spam and junk folders

Activation and password-reset messages may be filtered. If a message never arrives, verify the email address with the school.
