  • The Board of Directors of the Shamokin Area School District will receive applications for the following non-classified position available for the 2025-26 school year:

     

     

    Qualifications:

    • Masters level degree or higher in a Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) approved field
    • Behavior Specialist License
    • Minimum of two years’ experience in a related field
    • Demonstrate the leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and parents.

    Must possess or acquire Safe Crisis Certification.  Current CPR and First Aide Certification a plus but not required.

  • The Board of Directors of the Shamokin Area School District will receive applications for the following non-instructional position:

     

     

    Part-Time: 6 1/2 Hrs./Day for 180 Days

    May Require: Bending, stooping and lifting 75-100 pounds daily

    Must possess current CPR and First Aid certification (or receive in-district)

    Possession of Safe Crisis Management  (or receive in-district)

    Must complete a minimum of 20 hours of Professional Development annually

    Required to ride transportation to and from school with student(s)

    Grade 1 on Salary Schedule or based on experience, Minimum $12.00/hour

    (*Associates degree (or higher) or 48 post-secondary education credits and/or successful completion of a paraprofessional training program and can demonstrate through state or local assessment knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and mathematics.)

  • Guest Teacher Requirements

    The Shamokin Area School District will be accepting Guest Teacher applications.  Guest teachers are individuals in the community, who do not have teacher certification, but possess a Bachelor’s degree.  The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) will grant an emergency permit (Type 06 permit) allowing individuals to become a day-to–day substitute teacher once the training program, required documentation (transcripts and clearances), and PDE application processes are completed.  The Type 06 permit allows a guest teacher to substitute in any subject area. The Type 06 Emergency Permit is valid for one year (August 1st-July 31st) and must be renewed on an annual basis.  The rate per day is $125.00.

    Guest Teachers Participants Must:

    • Have a desire to make a positive impact on students
    • Successfully complete a one day training offered by the district
    • Complete All required documents

    Requirements:

    • PDE 6400 Form- Arrest Conviction Report
    • Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release- District Webpage

    • Act 34- PA State Police Criminal record Clearance- District Webpage
    • Act 114- FBI Fingerprint Criminal Record Clearance- District Webpage
    • Official sealed transcript - A fee may apply to some colleges/universities
    • School Employee PA department Personnel Record- including a current TB test

    • Emergency Permit Processing Fee: $5.00
